පොදු ප්රවාහන මාර්ග පාවිච්චි කරන මගීන්ගේ දිනෙන් දින වඩිවන අතර ඒ නිසා ඇතිවන තදබදයත් සමඟ මගීන් බෙහෙවින් අපහසුතාවයට පත්වන අතර මේ මගීන් අතර කාන්තා පාර්ෂවයේ ආරක්ෂාවටද යම් යම් අවදානම් හා ඔවුන් අපහසුතාවයට භාජනය වන අවස්ථා වැඩියි. මෙම දුෂ්කරතාවන් අවම කිරීමට කොළඹට සැහැල්ලු දුම්රිය ව්යාපෘතිය හා සංවෘත පරිපථ රූපවාහිනි තාක්ෂණය ක්රියාත්මක කිරීමටත් මම කොළඹට ගෙනන් සැලසුම පිළිබඳව මරදාන ලක් හිරු සෙවන දී, කොරහේන මහල් නිවාස වල්දී, මට්ටකුලියේ අලිවත්තේදී හා මෝදරදී ශර්මිලා භානු මහත්මිය, ලුෂාන්තන් කාර්තික් මහතා, මධුරංග මහතා, විපුල මහතා හා හිටපු නාගරික මන්ත්රී තිලකසිරි මන්ත්රීතුමා විසින් සංවිධානය කරන ල්ද හමු කිහිපයකදීම විස්තරාත්මකව පැහැදිලි කිරීමට අවස්ථාව මට ලැබුණි. මේ ජනහමු සංවිධානය කිරීමට සම්බණ්දීකරණයෙන් දායක වූ හිටපු පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්රී ලිලන්ත පෙරේරා මහතා හා Dr. ලසන්ත ගුණවර්ධන මහතාට මම බෙහෙවින් ස්තූති වනවා.
The number of passengers using public transportation routes is increasing daily, causing significant congestion and considerable inconvenience to travellers. Among these passengers, women face certain safety risks and discomfort. To alleviate these challenges, I plan to implement the light rail project and closed-circuit television technology in Colombo. I had the opportunity to explain this plan in detail during several meetings held at Lakhiru Sevena in Maradana, Korahena housing complex, Aliwatte in Mattakkuliya, and Modara, organized by Ms. Sharmila Bhanu, Mr. Lushanthan Karthik, Mr. Madhuranga, Mr. Vipula, and former municipal councillor Mr. Thilakasiri. I am also very grateful to former Member of Parliament Mr. Lilantha Perera and Dr. Lasantha Gunawardena for their coordination in organizing these gatherings.
